Episode 17. Docker-Split? What’s the big Reveal at J1? EE 8 finally on track? JDK 9 late?

So we start with interesting news. Docker (The darling of the Dev and Ops world) is going through a split personality disorder! What does it mean to fork docker and why do people want to fork it? Also, we finally hear that Oracle has been planning deep on Java EE 8, just not sharing too much info on it. If so, then why are we not going through the JCP to discuss this things!? JEP vs JSRs and the claim that maybe OpenJDK should be outside of the JCP for faster evolution? is it worth it?

Episode 11. The Eagle has Landed, at DEVNEXUS!

What does David Hasselhoff, aliens, vampires, nuclear weapons and Itunes have in common? They are all part of the OffHeap episode of DevNexus.

Join us in this hour (and half) long show where we talk with Markus Eisele(@myfear), and Daniel Hinojosa(@dhinojosa) on far-reaching (and not-so far-reaching) topics like the first time we went, oh-sh!t when deploying to production, or the Tech Economy Outlook. We poll our DevNexus audience about copyrights, apis, type of developers, JCP, and on dead/alive/zombie technologies (GWT, we’re watching you). Take a listen to one of the funniest episodes of Java OffHeap

Episode 8. Hello from JavaOne San Francisco, celebrating 20 years of Java!

So we made it to the promised land! The biggest Java Conference in the U.S. (we snuck in) and dedicated our podcast to Java’s 20th birthday, and also render tribute to the iconic Java Posse. Back in 2010 they made a series of predictions on what the Year 2015 would bring. Apparently they weren’t that off! We also discussed how Java is still relevant (very much so, thank you), and what’s on our crowd tech radar.
